Strategic Staffing Solutions’s customer is a US-based software firm that creates real-time trading systems, exchanges, and clearing tools for global financial groups. Its work covers the full cycle, from early advisory and application design to system setup, testing, and launch, done in close partnership with major financial institutions. The goal is to build strong and reliable tools that improve business results while lowering system risk, cost, and delivery time. Since their New York / New Jersey team is growing, and the firm is looking for a Technical Business Analyst / Project Manager based in New York.
What you will do:
- Transform a leading investment management firm’s reporting capability as part of their Technology PMO team.
- Evaluate and streamline the current reporting landscape, identifying opportunities to automate manual, time-intensive workflows and deliver scalable reporting that empowers executive decision-making.
- Document current-state processes, identify operational gaps, and define a clear and actionable future-state vision for the reporting function.
- Define solution architecture across systems and data flows, identifying dependencies across automation, orchestration, and data enrichment.
- Create and deliver ad hoc executive-level reports and custom data analysis while designing opportunities to automate recurring reporting.
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional partners including offshore development teams, reporting SMEs, business stakeholders, and C-Suite leadership.
- Groom and prioritize backlog items to support development activities and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Manage end-to-end delivery of reporting solutions, ensuring existing BAU reporting remains stable throughout the transformation.
- Proactively surface risks, dependencies, and blockers across technical and business teams and ensure they are addressed before impacting delivery.
What you will need:
- 5-10 years of combined Business Analyst and Project Manager experience.
- Strong business analysis skills including requirements gathering, solution design, process mapping, and backlog creation/grooming.
- Demonstrated project management ability to plan and coordinate across multiple teams in complex reporting and data environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business partners, and executive leadership.
- Experience working within PMO structures and knowledge of capital markets or broader financial services (highly preferred).
Technical & Systems Knowledge:
- Data analysis expertise using Excel and SQL.
- Familiarity with BI and data platforms such as PowerBI and Snowflake (or comparable tools).
- Experience with Agile delivery using Jira and Confluence.
