As Mid Ruby on Rails Developer you will support a high-scale, distributed SaaS platform by developing and maintaining sophisticated backend services. You will contribute to system architecture and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services using Ruby on Rails for a global Gift Cards & Vouchers platform
- Develop and enhance APIs, integrations, and data workflows with customer systems
- Work across the full development lifecycle: planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and support
- Collaborate with Product Managers and senior engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Optimize application performance, database queries, and background job processing
- Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and code reviews
- Write and maintain unit and end-to-end tests to ensure high code quality
- Support customer-facing teams by helping troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Contribute ideas to improve processes, architecture, and overall engineering practices
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails
- Solid experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB
- Familiarity with background jobs, asynchronous processing, and caching (e.g., Redis)
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Understanding of modern software development practices and Agile methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating clearly
Nice to have
- Experience in SaaS, e-commerce, or hospitality platforms
- Exposure to customer-specific integrations or custom development
- Basic knowledge of serverless architectures or frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular)
- Interest in growing toward mentoring or architectural responsibilities
