Senior Data Architect: Target Data Landscape Design
Strategic Staffing Solutions client – a large Scandinavian bank – is initiating a strategic effort to define the future data architecture across platforms, analytical environments, and integration layers. We are looking for a senior data architect to design the target architecture and guide the transition roadmap over a 6 to 12 month period. The role will support the broader migration agenda and ensure that future data capabilities are scalable and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the definition of the target data architecture across core platforms, analytical environments, and integration domains
- Assess current state, identify gaps, and propose a cohesive architecture aligned with business and regulatory needs
- Define reference architectures, data models, governance principles, and platform usage patterns
- Partner with engineering, security, analytics, and business teams to ensure alignment and feasibility
- Support the SAS Viya migration track with architectural guidance and integration design
- Establish architectural guardrails, standards, and documentation to support long term maintainability
- Provide architectural input for performance, scalability, data quality, lineage, and metadata management
- Ensure compliance with the technology policies, risk requirements, and industry best practices
- Present architectural options, trade offs, and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Profile Requirements:
- Proven experience as a data architect in complex enterprise environments
- Strong background in data platform design, modeling, integration patterns, and governance
- Understanding of analytical platforms, cloud data technologies, and modern architecture patterns
- Ability to structure complex information and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders
- Strong follow up discipline and ability to drive decisions across teams
- Experience from regulated industries or financial services is an advantage
- Familiarity with SAS ecosystems or similar analytical platforms is beneficial
- Fluent in English
