SAP PRA technical role:
Position Overview
Organization is seeking a highly skilled SAP PRA Technical Engineer to support and enhance enterprise Hydrocarbon Revenue Accounting and Production Revenue Accounting (PRA) capabilities within a complex global SAP landscape.
The ideal candidate combines strong SAP PRA technical expertise with hands-on development, integration, debugging, and enterprise platform experience across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support SAP PRA technical solutions within client’s Digital Core environment
- Build and maintain custom SAP developments including:
o ABAP Objects
o Reports
o Interfaces
o Enhancements
o BADIs
o User Exits
o RFCs
o APIs
o Forms and workflows
- Support integration efforts between SAP PRA and enterprise systems including:
o SAP FI/CO
o SAP JVA
o SAP MM
o SAP PM
o SAP BW
o SAP CPI/BTP
o Upstream production systems
o Data and analytics platforms
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and support incident resolution across Digital Core applications
- Participate in software development lifecycle activities including:
o Technical design
o Development
o Unit testing
o Integration testing
o Deployment
o Hypercare support
- Support SAP modernization and migration initiatives tied to S/4HANA transformation efforts
- Develop reusable technical components and integration standards aligned with Client’s architecture practices
- Work within Agile delivery teams utilizing Azure DevOps (ADO), sprint planning, backlog management, and DevOps methodologies
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise security, compliance, and operational reliability standards
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and support procedures
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of SAP technical engineering experience
- Strong hands-on SAP PRA technical experience
- Advanced ABAP development skills
- Experience supporting SAP upstream oil & gas environments
- Strong understanding of SAP integrations and middleware technologies
- Experience with:
o APIs
o Web services
o IDOCs
o RFCs
o OData services
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale SAP environments
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Advanced English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within oil & gas industry environments
- SAP S/4HANA migration or transformation experience
- Experience with SAP BTP and SAP CPI integrations
- Knowledge of SAP Revenue Accounting, JVA, Production Allocation, or Hydrocarbon Accounting processes
- Experience with Azure cloud technologies or enterprise cloud integrations
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Experience supporting global shared service or Digital Core organizations
