With a strong presence worldwide, it focuses on investment banking, markets, asset management, and consumer finance. And they are looking for KDB Developer to join their team for a 6 or 12 month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design: Architect and optimize data system components (e.g., historical databases, real-time data ingestion, gateways) using kdb+ and the Q programming language.
- Data Processing: Develop and maintain efficient pipelines for processing high volumes of time-series data and other complex structured data.
- Performance Optimization: Conduct performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning for kdb+ environments to ensure maximum speed and reliability.
- Data Integration: Design and implement interfaces to facilitate kdb+ communication with other systems and applications using various technologies.
- Troubleshooting: Actively diagnose and resolve production issues and provide technical support for developed systems.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Expertise in Q/kdb+: Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex kdb+ database and Q applications.
- Data Modeling: Strong skills in data modeling and designing efficient columnar data structures.
- Programming: Proficiency in at least one additional programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++), used for tooling and integration purposes.
- Architecture: Experience managing and maintaining distributed kdb+ environments.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong technical communication skills.
