Cloud Engineer – Automation & Observability
Position Summary
We are looking for a collaborative and technically capable engineer to join Client’s
Automation and Observation team. This role supports our ongoing efforts to improve operational
visibility and streamline infrastructure through automation. The ideal candidate brings a strong
foundation in scripting, infrastructure as code, and observability practices, along with a
continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain automation pipelines using Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code
(IaC) tools.
• Develop configuration management solutions with Ansible and Terraform.
• Integrate observability platforms with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) to support
automated alerting and incident workflows.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of observability strategies across hybrid
environments.
• Support CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance for consistent and secure
deployments.
• Work with containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, including Helm chart
management.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like
Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Azure Monitor, and Splunk.
• Manage virtualized infrastructure environments such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
Core Technical Skills
Programming & Scripting
• Python – For scripting, automation, and API interactions.
• .NET (C#) – Valuable for application development and tooling.
• PowerShell/Bash – For system administration across Windows and Linux.
Automation & Configuration Management
• Ansible – Proficient in writing and managing playbooks, roles, and inventories.
• Terraform (or similar) – Experience provisioning infrastructure using IaC.
Cloud Platforms
• Microsoft Azure – Familiarity with core services, ARM templates, Azure CLI, and
DevOps practices.
Containerization & Orchestration
• Docker – Experience building and managing containers.
• Kubernetes – Hands-on with deployment, troubleshooting, and Helm.
Operating Systems
• Windows Server – Knowledge of Active Directory, PowerShell, and system services.
• Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) – Comfortable with CLI, scripting, and system configuration.
Networking Fundamentals
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls, and routing.
Version Control
• Git – Proficient with collaborative workflows (e.g., pull requests, branching).
Observability & Monitoring
• Experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Azure Monitor, or Splunk.
• Ability to configure dashboards, alerts, and perform root cause analysis.
CI/CD Pipelines
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD
Virtualization
• Experience managing virtual machines and infrastructure using VMware vSphere,
Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
